Position summary
The General Manager leads the strategic, operational, and technical functions of our Frankfurt engineering office. This role involves leading employees, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting project coordination. The General Manager takes accountability for financial management, employee relations, and customer/stakeholder communications.
This role oversees the successful delivery of projects, ensuring high standards in quality, customer satisfaction, and business performance/profitability. The General Manager combines strong leadership with deep industry knowledge to develop employees, drive business growth, and uphold Pinnacle’s reputation for technical excellence.

Main duties and responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the Frankfurt office, aligning business objectives with Pinnacle’s global strategy.
- Oversee business development activities to support regional growth and market positioning.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all local laws, industry regulations, and internal policies.
- Develop, implement and maintain office-wide operational procedures, strategies and policies and procedures in line with Pinnacle and best practice protocols to improve efficiency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practice.
- Financial forecasting, KPI setting and reporting, expense/cost control and resource allocation.
- Prepare data, analytics and reports as required.
Project & Technical Management
- Oversee the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability.
- Monitor project workflows and collaborate with technical teams to resolve challenges and ensure resource allocation.
- Uphold technical standards in line with Pinnacle’s commitment to engineering excellence.
- Coordinate schedules and meetings for engineering teams.
- Work in collaboration with document control to ensure a robust process is adhered to for the filing and retrieval of documents, contracts, and drawings.
Financial Management
- Take full accountability for office financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Monitor project profitability and commercial performance.
People Leadership
- Lead, inspire, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and support staff.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Mentor and support employees, fostering professional development and continuous performance improvement.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and maintain customer relationships, contribute to business development, and support proposal and contract negotiations.
- Serve as the primary local point of contact for customer issues, strategic engagements, and regional initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and represent Pinnacle with stakeholders at company events, meetings, and conferences.

- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in engineering leadership and experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a consultancy or engineering environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors. Have an understanding of business psychology. Supporting employees to feel heard and understood. Able to collaboratively problem solve to foster a positive and approachable office environment that is also productive and disciplined.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in office software and systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite and database management, is often required.
- Strategic Thinking: The ability to align regional operations with global business goals.
- Financial Management: Experience in managing budgets and financial records is beneficial.
- Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
Key requirements
- Proven experience of working in the German Construction Industry.
- A degree in project management or engineering.
- Understand the Pinnacle scope of works and able to liaise with new and existing clients on our capabilities and support Pinnacle in securing new work.
- Have existing contacts within the industry to reach out to for business development purposes.
- Strong knowledge of German business regulations, labor law, and local engineering practices.
- German and English language skills, fluent/native speaker proficiency level.
